Opening of the IGIS INSPIRE web portal for the first users

INSPIRE web portal, developed under the IGIS project, is opened for access to the first beneficiaries from the public authorities.

INSPIRE web portal is implemented in collaboration with Airbus Defence & Space in order to provide access to spatial data and products from the IGIS project. The portal supports services for metadata search (Discovery service) and view of spatial data (View service). The portal is intended for users from the Republic Geodetic Authority and other public institutions that work together as partners in the implementation and use of data from the project.

Data management and creation of web mapping services for publishing on the INSPIRE web portal is provided by the system CDR-DMC (Central Data Repository – Data Management Capabilities). Beside the data generated within the project, it is possible to publish on the portal other spatial data from the jurisdiction of other institutions.

The portal is available at address only for state institutions with the procedure for authentication of users. Having in mind that the portal is not available for the public, the partner institutions can access to the portal after registration thorough stable public internet address.

The first demonstration of results of the IGIS project and the basic functionality of the INSPIRE web portal was held on 25th April 2014. Currently, the portal is used by the Agency for Traffic Safety, Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SANU, Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia and Public Water Management Company “Srbijavode”.
