The Republic Geodetic Authority, in cooperation with the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority, Lantmäteriet held a workshop within IMPULS project on May 23rd and 24th 2018 under the title “Data Sharing”.
On the first day in the premises of the Republic Geodetic Authority, employees of the Center of Geospatial Information Management together with Swedish experts from Lantmäteriet met to analyze the current situation in the geosector especialy in the field of data sharing, but also to define corrective measures in order to achieve the targeted situation in this field. On this occasion, the legal framework defined by the Law on NSDI in the area of data sharing was also analyzed, as well as the responsibilities of NSDI stakeholders in the process of data sharing and the proposal for the model of data sharing.
On the next day, on May 24th, 2018, a round table was held in the Palace of Serbia, where representatives of relevant ministries, administrative bodies, professional organizations, public institutions, Office for IT and E-Government, Standing Conferences of Towns and Municipalities and UNDP took part in the event, where a proposal of the data sharing model and then the current state in the geosector regarding the cooperation between NSDI stakeholders on the subject of data exchange has been presented. Swedish experts have highlighted the importance of spatial data sharing, their experience and sharing model as well as the international experience in applying the INSPIRE Directive. Finally, to the participants were presented the current state of access to geospatial data through the WMS services and national geoportal as a site for access to network services.
The workshop was rated as very useful and the participants expressed their wish to be recognized as responsible NSDI stakeholders, but also expressed readiness for active participation in the data sharing.
