EuroGeographics General Assembly and UN-GGIM: Europe Plenary meeting will be held in Belgrade

EuroGeographics General Assembly and UN-GGIM: Europe Plenary meeting will be organised in Belgrade from 4th to 7th October 2015.

Republic Geodetic Authority is co-organiser and host of 16th EuroGeographics General Assembly, which will be held from 4th to 6th October 2015 in hotel Metropol in Belgrade. Addition to, the second UN-GGIM: Europe Plenary meeting will be held on 7th October 2015.

EuroGeographics is an international association representing the European National Mapping, Lang Registry and Cadastral Authorities. The aim of the association is to support development of the European Spatial Data Infrastructure through cooperation of national authorities to provide quality geoinformation. Currently, the membership covers the whole of geographical Europe and brings together 61 members from 46 countries.

General Assembly of EuroGeographics members is organised annually. On that occasion, management of the all European Mapping and Cadastre Authorities is gathered, as well as key representatives of European organisations and bodies, such as the European Commission, the European Environmental Agency and Eurostat.

EuroGeographics has announced that Mr Mick Cory from Land and Property Services, Northern Ireland, will succeed Mr Dave Lovell at position of Secretary General and Executive Director. Mr Dave Lovell has led the association since 2007. He will officially hand over to Mr Cory at the General Assembly in Belgrade.
