9th Regional Conference on Cadastre and Spatial Data Infrastructure was held in the period from 16th to 17th of June 2016 in Opatija, Republic of Croatia.
The conference was attended by representatives of regional cadastral and cartographic institutions, the European Commission, EuroGeographics Association, World Bank, UN-GGIM, CLGE, EULIS, Lantmateriet, Kartverket and IMPULS project, a total of more than 60 delegates.
The main theme of the conference was “Geospatial data in the service of strategic projects and economic development”. At the panel discussion, directors of cadastral and cartographic institutions have expressed their views on current activities and development plans for the period up to 2020.
During the conference there was a meeting of National Coordinators and the Board of IMPULS project.
In preparation for the conference, members of the Permanent Technical Commission completed questionnaires and performed its analysis on the basis of which a brochure was created that will be beneficial to all cadastral and cartographic institutions in the region.
The conclusion is that this year’s conference was well organized and that regional cooperation can significantly contribute to the modernization and accelerating the reform of the system of land administration and building spatial data infrastructure.
It was agreed that the next regional conference will be held in Macedonia in June next year.
